Locklizard announce new upgrades to their Safeguard PDF DRM service

Locklizard are pleased to release two additional features for their Safeguard PDF DRM service.

The first allows publishers to specify access to their information for a number of days after the document is first opened.  This is a very powerful mechanism for publishers.  Training course providers can be sure that a five day course is exactly that.  Enterprises granting a fixed period of access to their knowledge will know that it is controlled.  Another use of this feature is to allow publishers to offer ‘try-before-you-buy’.  The advantage of this approach is that recipients have a specific number of days in which to evaluate a product rather than a specific number of times to look at it, or a fixed expiry date.

The second is a feature for users/customers.  They can now choose to have documents open at the last point accessed, instead of always opening at the start of a document.  This feature has been added without creating any risk of compromise of the security of the document.  Nothing in the secured document is altered if this capability is invoked.  The secured document is not altered or written to in any way, so the overall security of the Safeguard DRM system is not compromised by the addition of this feature. 

Locklizard continue to provide all their customers with additional functionality that enhances their abilities to control and to use protected digital works.  Locklizard will continue to add functionality to their PDF DRM service and software going forwards.
